"The Evil Machine" è il terzo EP della trilogia iniziata con "Alpha EP" e seguita da "Equoreaction EP".
Dopo i primi due EP che raccontano i viaggi sonori e psichedelici della band attraverso pianeti densi di groove, ora è il momento di raccontare ciò che accade loro all'arrivo sul pianeta terra.
Gli ambienti sonori diventano più scuri e tesi, si parte con la descrizione di quello che la band vede sul suolo terrestre per arrivare ad un messaggio universale:
- "The Evil Machine": la macchina infernale creata dall'uomo per produrre sempre di più, che finisce per minacciare la sopravvivenza dell'umanità stessa;
- "North East Far West": una rappresentazione della tensione tra gli esseri umani che spesso preferiscono armarsi invece che dialogare;
- "Starlets War": una malinconica melodia battistiana che ironizza sullo "star system" attuale, fatto di improbabili influencer ed "instagrammer" sempre in guerra tra loro, disposti a vendere i propri figli per guadagnare un like in più;
- "Above the head of the Star": Musica, concepita come arte dell'improvvisazione, che giunge salvifica, per restituire una dimensione più umana e positiva al mondo oscuro descritto fino a quel momento;
- "Dust to Lust": per concludere i Verticali si preparano ad un nuovo viaggio, nella speranza di motivare ogni essere umano a trovare una via per rinascere dalla polvere e rivivere la passione per la Madre Terra.
